There is nothing more important than that we feel good in our bodies. Hands down, when we feel good in our body, we are more focused, we make wiser decisions regarding our food consumption and activities, and we are more conscious about life in general. When we feel good in our body, we simply feel good about life........until that greedy little ache, pain, or daily body function starts acting out of the norm .... gut issues anyone?
Outside of medical practices, there are those of us who coach, treat, and assist in the wellness of another's life. Sometimes it's when the imbalance is slight and just a little bit of tweaking needs to take place; but more often than not, most people do not seek out help until their symptoms get way out of hand. People who literally "feel" in their bodies seek out alternative assistance and generally are aware that sometimes it can be a lengthy process to get well. However, often times a person will just grab a prescription, antibiotic, or OTC remedy to get rid of the symptom ASAP. I can't blame them. I've done it. There is nothing more raging than a pain that seems to creep up overnight. It's understandable that you would want immediate relief from a flu that comes out of nowhere or a UTI that literally starts to show signs and boom within 2 hours your screaming in pain. Sometimes it's a gas pain that you need to go and lay down for and sometimes it's a blinding migraine that will lay you down for days. Regardless of the severity, the onset, and the pattern that led up to the discomfort, something got you there. And it's that something that you need to trace yourself back to in order to be done with it ......for good.
I have been a colon hydrotherapist for 15 years and over those years, I have seen the entire gamut of reasons for people to take on hydrotherapy. You would think that it was just for digestive disomfort (IBS, Constipation, Parasites, Candida, Food Sensitivities, etc) but it's far from. People come in for all sorts of reasons ranging from your typical digestive issues like chronic or sudden onset constipation to simply wanting to just do a cleanse because they feel it's good for them. Clients come in for skin issues, autoimmunity, migraines, because they are on medication and it affects their digestion, for parasites, candida, and fungal infections. They come in with Lyme disease or because they are detoxing from heavy metals with chelation therapy and follow up with hydrotherapy. And yes, it's true, clients come in for weight loss as a way to reset and restart their digestive system.
Colon hydrotherapy has been used for centuries to clear out the old and reset the digestive system. They used it in history because they knew that a healthy digestive system was the foundation for a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
"All Disease Begins In The Gut"
So therefore, it makes complete sense to start in the gut and work outwardly from there. Because once the digestive system is healed and functioning optimally, the majority of your issues will start to heal and balance themselves out. The caveat is, however, that you must follow through with the lifestyle and tricks of the trade in order to keep that health affluent all your days.
Sometimes I hear clients say that they do not feel that hydrotherapy, or any therapy that they are taking on, works for them. Whether it be acupuncture, Ayurvedic medicine, Reiki, Meditation, or any practice they are utilizing, it's just not working for them. And that is true of all practices provided there isn't follow through. You don't need to be rigid, but you do need to have a plan in line in order for your healing to continue and thrive. If you experience unease in your body, get a treatment, and then follow up with your same old patterns, you will fail to reach your true goal. ....... which is to feel good in your body.
It takes work? YES!!
It takes commitment? YES!!
It takes change? YES!!
If you want to change how your body functions, you have to change what you are giving it to function on. Whether it's a food, a supplement, a drug, an activity, a relationship, a job, or whatever it is that has caused the imbalance, if you keep on with your old patterns, you will not get to where you are going. And then it's natural to say "It Doesn't Work For ME."
Nothing works if you don't follow through. If you workout for 6 months and lose your goal weight, the weight doesn't stay off if you stop working out and go back to pizzas and desserts. You have to stay in the game. You have to stay on your path.....a different path from the one you've been traveling. In that sense, all the treatments you seek out, will complement that NEW lifestyle you have chosen and not fix the pesky little inconveniences. THIS.....is going to the source of the problem.
I know it's not easy. But if it were easy, everyone would achieve their goals. You have to find your commitment to yourself within yourself. Change your habits and routines. Find someone to help coach or guide you in your process. And follow through all the days of your life. That's just how it works.
I have been in that mindset in my life as well. If only I could do this onnnnnnne little thing, I will feel better. If only I could take that one miraculous supplement, this will all clear up. If only I could exercise my way back to health, follow the strictest of diets, and cleanse it all away. But none of it works if you don't have a solid plan in action to carry you all the way through. What that is is different for everyone. But being aware is the first step.
