What you eat impacts your body on every level. Your food and all its macro and micro nutrients send messages in the form of hormones to the cells throughout your body that either trigger, stimulate, or turn off body systems, like the digestive system, and can impact you on even the most miniscule level. So small that you wouldn't even consider it being a problem. But it can be and over time, as this trigger, or sensitivity, builds in the body, the body can become much more reactive. So as I go into the future with coaching clients, tracking the food, supplements, and prescriptions is what I would like to send off so that I can have a better picture with what I am working with.
As I move forward from being solely a cleansing coach into more of a well rounded nutritional coach, I personally would like to see the NEED for cleansing become smaller. Cleansing these days, as it is touted in today's health paradigm, is planted into our minds that we are a big toxic mess and that we need to purge our bodies from toxins, mucoidal plaque, and all sorts of fungus and bacteria. Yes, that stuff does occur. But chances are that your body is simply more exhausted than it is toxic. Chances are that from the front, you simply need to fuel your body properly, remove what is causing the need for cleansing, and get a lot of rest to restore your adrenal system, relax your nervous system, signal your hormones properly, and rest your body a bit more in order to get the channels and meridians to open up and flow more evenly.
Your awareness of how your live your life will have more of an impact on what shows up for you after a cleanse than if you were to do a cleanse and simply go back to your life as you know it. The best education I received was working hands on with my clients who continue to do the same ole same ole and not make the changes necessary to have ever lasting robust health. The goal is to get healthy…..then the body shifts and you see results. A healthy body doesn't struggle……ever. Or rarely, if ever.
Taking a look at the smaller things that you might not be conscious of is seriously just as important as noticing that eating a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast might not be your best option. In fact, for some people eating breakfast entirely may not be the best option. But we will save that for another post/chapter.
So…..what's eating you?
